Rocío Mendizábal
Spanish

M.A., B.S., and B.A.
Indiana University of Pennsylvania

A native of Spain, Rocío began teaching Spanish in 1988, first at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and then at North Cross School in Roanoke, Va., before coming to Episcopal.

Rocío believes that “teaching is the opportunity to tap into a student’s potential – to open their eyes to something new. Whether they ‘use’ it in the future or not is nearly irrelevant. Being passionate about a subject, any subject, at the very least sets an example for the student to explore their own passions.”

Rocío and her husband, EHS English teacher Tim Rogers ’79, live on campus with their six children, including Alex ’04.
