Carolyn serves as dean of multicultural affairs at EHS and says, “My goal is to aid Episcopal with its mission to develop as a healthy community that believes in a multicultural education and promotes equity for all regardless of culture, ethnicity, race, gender, or religion. I hope to encourage racial and cultural sensitivity within the School and develop within its students a sense of responsibility for equity and justice in the community as a whole.”

Along with her love of science, Carolyn enjoys long walks and visiting local museums. She has a special interest in African art. She is the faculty advisor to Spectrum, a club that promotes diversity and inclusiveness in the EHS community, and serves as a student advisor. Carolyn lives in Laurel, Md., with her husband, André Phillips.
