Episcopal High School Faculty

David L. Hathaway
Director of Technology, Chair of Computer Studies
M.S. and B.S. Purdue University

In addition to teaching computer studies at Episcopal, David heads the department that provides technological support for the entire campus. Since coming to Episcopal in 1986, he has played a major role in the growth of computer technology and advises students, faculty, and staff on the use of EHSnet and the Internet. David has acquired professional certifications from Novell, Microsoft, CompTIA, and the Linux Professional Institute.

David decided to teach because he wanted “to share his love for computers and mathematics with others,” and he appreciates the “professionalism and dedication of his colleagues.” He spends a great deal of his time studying and reading about education and technology, and he enjoys model railroading, traveling, and playing golf in his free time. He also serves as part of the evening study hall team. His wife, Karen, is Episcopal’s registrar, and they live on campus. They have two sons – Chris, a teacher in Alexandria, and Rob, who lives in Fredericksburg and works in the insurance business.
