Episcopal High School Faculty

William E. Hannum
English
Ph.D. University of Virginia
M.A. University of Virginia
A.B. University of the South

No stranger to the classroom, Bill taught at both Washington and Lee University and Bates College before joining the EHS faculty in 1983. When he speaks of his commitment to education, he emphasizes Episcopal’s ideals, energy, and intense commitment to its students. In addition to teaching English, he coaches the boys’ and girls’ varsity track teams and serves on the Dalrymple Dorm team.

To further cultivate his interest in his academic field, Bill “reads constantly” and takes full advantage of the cultural resources available in Washington, D.C. Bill and his wife, Susan, live on campus and enjoy traveling together when given the opportunity. They have two adult children.
