Episcopal High School Faculty

Craig M. Cetrulo
Director of Communications Skills, English
M.A. University of Virginia

B.A. Duke University

Craig came to Episcopal after receiving the award for outstanding work in American Literature at Duke University and subsequently writing his graduate thesis about Nathaniel Hawthorne while at the University of Virginia. Since joining the EHS faculty, he has studied at Georgetown University, traveled to Florence, Italy, with a professor from New York University, and attended teaching seminars around the world, most recently at Cambridge University. Craig believes that students will rise to the level of expectation in the classroom and that if the teacher consistently challenges students beyond what they initially think they can do, both the student and teacher will be surprised by the positive growth that can take place.

Craig has taken a leave of absence during the 2007-08 school year to pursue a master’s degree in organization and leadership, with a specialization in private school leadership, at Columbia University’s Teachers College. He serves as the academic director of the EHS Young Writers’ Workshop summer program and oversees the writing and public speaking curriculum as the director of communications skills. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he also heads the School’s newly founded Forensics League, coaches girls’ varsity soccer and boys’ JV lacrosse, and works as a member of the activities team.
