On Saturday morning a stalwart group of 7 students traveled to Lake Braddock High School to compete in the Virginia State Science Olympiad before rushing back to campus in time for the Finals Dance.

Our team, albeit smaller than in past years, achieved "Great" success, with standout Great Thavapatikom being named as State Champion in three separate events. The team as a whole performed in an admirable fashion throughout the competition. Congratulations to State Champions Thavapatikom, Wonhee Lim '12, and Julian Lockhart '12, as well as team members Cathy Bai '11, Jesse Ling '12, Ji Hong Min '12, and Amy Ren '12.

• View video of the EHS "Mission Possible" submission - a Rube Goldberg machine built by Lockhart and Ling. It was one of the few instruments in the tournament to run flawlessly.
