Greek 1

This elective course provides an introduction to ancient Greek and the history, culture, and literature of ancient Greece. No previous knowledge of Greek or Latin is assumed, though interested students should have some experience in the study of another language. This course does not fulfill the foreign language requirement at EHS. (one credit)

Greek 2

In this course we carry on with our study of ancient Greek. As in the first year, we combine our study of the language with an exploration of the history, culture, and literature of ancient Greece.

Greek 3–4 — Independent Study

Depending on the individual interests of those students enrolled each year, this course focuses on any of a number of ancient authors including Homer, Herodotus, Thucydides, Euripides, Sophocles, and Plato. In addition there is a heavy emphasis on English-to-Greek composition.
